SHORT COURSE: INSTRUMENT APPROACHES

This may be a short course, but it covers the subject in considerable detail. This course is best taken after completion of my other short course, "Instrument Approach Charts". This course discusses in detail the procedures involved in flying both precision and non-precision instrument approaches. The Instrument Landing System (ILS), VOR, VOR-A, Localizer (LOC), Localizer Back Course (LOC BC), Global Positioning System (GPS), and Non-directional Beacon (NDB) approaches are all discussed. Standard and non-standard take-off minima and procedures are explained, as well as standard and non-standard alternate minima. The use of climb gradient and descent tables is also presented.
