Gearing Up!

Plotting the Course of My Safety Initiative for 2019

First, I want to wish everyone all the best in 2019. I hope the New Year will bring you much happiness and success in everything that you do.

Next, I want to provide an update on the return of my Safety Initiative. My mission remains unchanged: I want to help pilots be safer and I want to reach as many pilots as possible.

For better and for worse, the available platforms for delivering the information has changed considerably during my two-year hiatus. The good news is that there are many more platforms available now and each one has its positives and its negatives. I have spent the last month evaluating platforms for websites, online course hosting, webinars, email systems, and more. The good news is that the possibilities are endless. Much more capability exists to be innovative with programs and to deliver the programs across the wide spectrum of devices in use by the public. I want my Safety Initiative 2.0 to press the boundaries of what is possible. Many of you may recall that I first introduced the aviation safety webinar as a means expanding the reach of the traditional safety seminars. I want to fully implement the evolving technologies to reach more pilots with high-quality, pertinent, engaging content, that is relevant to the real world of GA flying.

So, just like I don't have all the answers to flying airplanes, I don't have all the answers to what pilots want and need to be safer. So I would appreciate your input on what my Safety Initiative 2.0 should include. I am not set up to do surveys, so please just send me an email with your thoughts and suggestions. Do you prefer written articles, videos, online courses, webinars, or something else? In addition to what sort of content you would like and how you would like it delivered, I am curious about how important FAA Wings credit is to you. Please email me at gene@genebenson.com.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks in advance for your input.
